Well, things are really starting to take shape with our new show Dead in America. We recently welcomed independent composer Richard Rodwell to the team and he is already hard at work on developing the shows score.

We are still looking for people to take on the roles of lighting and props. Hopefully someone will be willing to take the dive into the jobs soon. It's so nice actually having a team of talented individuals who can the jobs that the director simply can not do. Costumes, makeup, lighting, etc. While it can be fun and some knowledge in those area is certainly useful, it can be extremely daunting trying to do it all yourself.

Well, we posted the pilot episode of Beat That!!. A new mini series by Ryan Brewer. So far the reception has been decent, but more views on the ol' YouTube channel are always welcome. ;)

As for "Dead in America" (from here on out referred to as DIA) the writing process is still coming along nicely with only minimal speed bumps along the way. A few more rewrites on the first couple of episodes and we should be ready to start looking into the pre-production line-up of story boarding and seeking financing. Some preliminary casting may also get under way soon, but we're taking it one step at a time and we're not in a rush to jump into it. This project is going to take some careful planning.

Writing on "Dead in America" has certainly opened up the minds door to some interesting ideas. While I can't really give much away at the moment, let's just say that I recently had a major character realization that could easily open the door for better drama and some action packed sub plots.

However, I would like to take this moment to emphasize support. I don't know how many people are aware of this, but everything do comes out of our pocket. In the past, the short films we've created have been simple little films with few special effects and as small a cast and crew as can be possibly assembled, usually in a short period of time. The fact of the matter is, "Dead in America" is wayyyyy to big a project for that sort of thing. We're talking extras out the a-hole and lots of makeup fx. This will be a one hundred percent FAN SUPPORTED SHOW! Why? Because I clearly do not have the money or resources to fund it on my own.

All I'm really saying is that I want all of you out there on the internet to take that into consideration. Perhaps even take the initiative and become a part of the Zone 4 production team. The more contributors we have, the better the production. Also, I would like extend my deepest gratitude towards those who have helped out in the past both in front and behind the camera and to those who have openly supported our projects from the very beginning. Let's keep making movies and don't forget to show your support.

Well, development on "Dead in America" has officially started and we are very excited. This web series looks like it could be a real winner if we can snag the right kind of support to make it work.

Right now, the writing team is hard at work writing the first three scripts in the series. All is going well and we've come across some interesting ideas along the way.

In case anyone is wondering, here's the down-low on "Dead in America". It is an ambitious project to say the least. An epic tale of post zombie apocalypse like you've never seen before.

Originally, the concept for "Dead in America" came from a full length feature film written by yours truly, Ryan Brewer. However, the script just never felt like it was sitting where it needed to be and the ideas just kept coming. More recently, the idea came to me that it would be really cool to start this series and see what happens when we get other filmmakers from around the country involved in their own little way. I don't want to give out too much, but I think this is going to be very interesting.

Stay tuned for more info...

Hello all! Welcome to the official Zone 4 Productions Blog and temporary web site. We plan on keeping everyone as up to date as humanly possible on the latest Zone 4 news, so make sure to tune back in whenever possible.

You haven't heard of Zone 4 Productions you say? Not to worry. Here's a little back story. Zone 4 is just a small time film company looking to leave its mark on the world. Our goal is simple; make movies and expand the filmmaking community of the Black Hills in South Dakota.

Currently we are working on putting together several projects. First and foremost is our "Dead in America" web series. A zombie show that follows the exciting lives of survivors from around the country. But there's more to this zombie invasion than just the walking dead. Viewers will enter a world filled with it's own unique mythology and will feature characters of a more... eccentric taste.

Our other big project is the rebooting of a small web series started by writer/director Keith Melcher called Larry & The Monsters which follows the exploits of a down-on-his-luck bachelor named Larry who is cursed by a gypsy to live with second rate movie monsters as his roommates.

While you're here don't forget to become a member of the blog, share the links, and watch the videos as we post them.

Thanks again for joining us!
